Palfinger provides North Sea lift
Crane orders secured for Borkum West 2.2, Hohe See and Albatros projects
Palfinger Marine is to supply cranes for the 203MW Borkum West 2.2, 497MW Hohe See and 112MW Albatros offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.
The company will deliver 32 hydraulic foldable knuckle boom PK40002M cranes for the nacelles and 32 electro-hydraulic stiff boom PSM400 cranes for platforms at Borkum West 2.2.
The nacelle cranes will be delivered between July and December 2018, with the platform units sent between February and April next year.
Palfinger will also provide 87 fixed boom platform PF8000 cranes for Hohe See (71) and Albatros (16).
Hohe See deliveries will run until the end of 2017, while the Albatros order will be in February and March 2018.
The PF8000 cranes have an outreach of 2.9 metres have also been delivered to the Gemini, Gode Wind and Race Bank projects.
Palfinger wind cranes global sales manager Rupert Reischl said: “These large-scale orders show that all our efforts over the last 15 years in the offshore wind business are paying off and we are on the right track.”
