Siemens Gamesa wins big in US
Deal for 310 turbines totalling 784MW for five unnamed projects
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is to supply turbines totalling 784MW to five projects in the US.
The 310-turbine deal is for 92 SWT-23-108 machines, 144 SWT-2.625-120 units and 74 G126-2.625MW turbines.
The nacelles and hubs for the SWT-2.3-108 and SWT-2.625-120 hardware will be assembled at the company’s factory in Hutchinson in Kansas.
The majority of the blades for the five projects will be manufactured at Siemen Gamesa’s blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa, with the remainder sourced within the North America.
Siemens Gamesa onshore chief executive Ricardo Chocarro said: “I’m very pleased that Siemens Gamesa was selected for these five major orders in the US.
“These orders demonstrate the confidence that our customers have in our combined product offerings.”
