Vattenfall’s 228MW Pen y Cymoedd mega-farm in Wales has bagged the outstanding renewable energy project in the country’s green energy awards.

The 76-turbine project (pictured), operational since May, scooped the gong at the RenewableUK Cymru-organised Wales Green Energy Awards today.

Tidal Lagoon Power, the developer of the 320MW Swansea Bay project, took home the supply chain development prize.

Marine Energy Wales meanwhile secured the outstanding advocate for an organisation award.

RenewableUK Cymru director David Clubb said: “Above all, today was an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, meet with friends and acquaintances old and new, and look forward to the next year with all the challenges and opportunities it will undoubtedly bring.”
