Enel Green Power North America has started commercial operations at the 300MW Rock Creek wind farm in Missouri, almost two months ahead of schedule.

Electricity from Rock Creek, which is located in Atchison county, will be sold to Kansas City Power & Light and the Greater Missouri Operations Company under two separate power purchase agreements.

Enel Green Power has also kicked off construction of the 320MW Rattlesnake Creek project in Nebraska.

The company is financing the wind farm through its own resources.

Some 200MW of the output at Rattlesnake Creek will supply electricity for Facebook’s new data centre in Papillion.
