Merkur base breaks ground
EMS Maritime Offshore celebrates start of work on O&M facility at Eemshaven

EMS Maritime Offshore has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a service base in Eemshaven in the Netherlands for the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The base will feature a 600-metre square warehouse and 500 square metres of offices.
Dutch construction firm BV Kooi Bouwbedrijf from Appingedam is general contractor for the building work.
GE Renewable Germany will use the site to supply and install turbines and carry out operations and maintenance for the wind farm.
Merkur will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150 6MW turbines that are slated for commissioning in 2019.
