Senvion charters Nordsee 1 CTV
EMS Maritime Offshore to provide catamaran for three years from April 2018
EMS Maritime Offshore (EMO) is providing a crew transfer vessel (CTV) for Senvion during the operational phase of the 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
EMO has added the 26-metre Stratcat catamaran from Strategic Marine’s shipyard in Singapore to its fleet to carry out the work.
Stratcat can carry 24 people and up to 30 tonnes of freight.
The charter, which will be shared with EMO partner Van Laar Maritime, will start in April next year out of Norddeich and last three years.
Senvion is supplying 54 6.2M126 turbines to the project.
EMO managing director Knut Gerdes said: “Once again, we have commissioned a special ship that meets certain conditions for activities in the southern North Sea and our clients’ requirements.”
