Hornsea seconds for TP two
OSB, Bladt secure additional work at Orsted 1.2GW UK project
OSB and Bladt have secured additional orders for the supply of transition pieces to Orsted for the 1.2GW Hornsea 1 wind farm off east England.
Orsted has confirmed that OSB will fabricate a further 30 units for the project on top of an existing order for 56 structures.
Bladt is meanwhile supplying a further 28 TPs in addition to the 40 it is already working on.
The additional TP fabrication contracts were first reported exclusively in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS in September.
The final complement of 20 is being made by German company Steelwind Nordenham and UK outfit Wilton Engineering.
EEW today acquired Bladt Industries’ share in the OSB joint venture to become the sole owner and rename the yard EEW OSB. EEW is supplying the 174 monopiles for the wind farm.
The contract for the additional TPs came about after Orsted ditched plans to deploy 58 suction bucket jackets at the wind farm off Yorkshire.
