GE Renewable Energy is to provide 38 turbines for Enlight Renewable Energy’s 105MW Blacksmith wind farm in Serbia.

The deal is for 2.75-120 machines with 110-metre hub heights and also includes a 15-year service agreement.

The turbines will be produced at GE’s Salzbergen facility in Germany, with blades manufactured by LM Wind Power in Spain and Poland.

The project, which will be located in the north-east Vojvodina region, is expected to be operational in 2019.

GE onshore wind business president and chief executive Pete McCabe said: “The Blacksmith wind project represents one fifth of the country’s wind capacity targets for 2020 and we are very excited to be part of it.”
