Vestas continues Iowa feast
V110-2.0MW machines totalling 70MW ordered by MidAmerican Energy
Vestas is to supply turbines totalling 70MW to MidAmerican Energy towards the 2GW Wind XI project in Iowa.
The deal is for V110-2.0MW machines, which will be manufactured at Vestas’ four Colorado factories.
Delivery is expected in the second quarter of 2018.
The Wind XI project consists of multiple sites in Iowa that will be placed into service between 2017 and 2019.
The order includes supply and commissioning as well as an active output management 5000 service agreement.
Vestas sales and service division president in the US and Canada Chris Brown said: “We are pleased to continue working with MidAmerican Energy on this next phase of the Wind XI project.
“The production, construction and operations of the turbines for Wind XI will generate significant economic benefits for landowners, their community and the supply chain that supports these American-made turbines.”
