Red Rock probes Inch Cape waters
Horizon Geosciences starts three-month geophysical survey for 600MW project
Red Rock Power has begun a geophysical survey campaign for its 600MW Inch Cape wind farm off Scotland.
The developer said a fleet of four vessels will spend the next three months working 24/7 to gather data on the project's proposed 150 square-kilometre array area, which lies 15km off the Angus coast.
Survey work is also being carried out along the project's export cable corridor in the Outer Firth of Tay and Firth of Forth.
Horizon Geosciences has been named the principle contractor for the work, which will include the drilling of several boreholes to gather soil samples.
“The offshore site investigation will help us further understand the local conditions and inform the design of the wind farm as it progresses,” said Inch Cape project manager Ian Johnson.
