Senvion books 300MW Spain date
Deal with Alfanar for hardware including 3.XM140 and 4.2M140 models
Senvion has secured a contract to supply turbines totalling 300MW to Alfanar for wind farms to be developed in Spain.
The order covers a variety of turbine models, including 3.XM140 and 4.2M140 hardware, the German manufacturer said.
Installation and commissioning is planned for 2019, with the deal also including a 20-year full maintenance service contract.
It is the second agreement with Alfanar, following a 300MW contract for turbines in India.
Senvion acting chief executive Manav Sharma said: “We are delighted to sign the second contract with Alfanar this year and to successfully reenter into the Spanish market.
“This emphasises Senvion's aspiration to globally accompany its clients with a local approach in growth markets as India or Spain. The successful signing of the agreement also demonstrates the competitiveness of our modular product portfolio.”
Alfanar Energy chief executive Jamal Wadi said: “After successful collaboration in India, we are very pleased to expand our existing cooperation with Senvion with the projects in Spain.
“We are confident that Senvion will deliver the turbines within the prescribed timelines and this order will help Senvion to establish its strong market presence in Spain.”
