The Offshore Wind Innovation Hub (OWIH) has launched a new website, which aims to outline priorities for innovation within the sector.
The site, which was launched today, also gives information about supply chain growth opportunities and offer a view of the funding landscape for innovative projects in the UK.
The online platform aims to bring the government and the UK offshore wind industry together to develop a consortium of organisations capable of identifying and addressing national innovation needs.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) will invest up to £1.3m in the OWIH, which is jointly delivered by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult and the Knowledge Transfer Network.
ORE Catapult research and disruptive innovation director Stephen Wyatt said the OWIH had an important role to play in helping the UK’s technology-based businesses seize the tremendous opportunities in the offshore wind market.
“It will ensure that the UK’s world-class technologies and services remain at the forefront of innovation and are promoted internationally,” he said.
