Grid operator TenneT is seeking to qualify bidders for cable supply and installation for offshore wind connections at two zones off the Netherlands.

The company has kicked off initial tendering for the export infrastructure at the 1.4GW Hollandse Kust Zuid and 700MW Hollandse Kust Noord zones in the North Sea.

TenneT is looking to connect a number of substation to shore via 220kV AC offshore and potentially onshore cables.

“The scope of the intended contracts includes design, engineering, production, delivery and installation,” said TenneT.

The offshore network will feature substations connected by 66kV wiring, with the wind farms also producing power at 66kV.

Hollandse Zuid is due online in 2021 and 2022 with Noord following in 2023.
