RES has secured rights to develop three solar farms totalling 12.65MW in the latest energy auction in France.

The projects comprise the 5MW Loudia facility in the Côtes-d’Armor region, the 2.65MW Brouville plant in Vaucluse and the 5MW Rouan St Prim development in Ariege.

Combined the solar farms are expected to generate 16,000 megawatt-hours a year of electricity.

RES solar project director Pierre-Yves Barbier said: “RES aims to be a major player in solar development in France in the coming years. To achieve this goal, we can count on a growing team of more than 20 employees dedicated exclusively to solar and our network of offices across France.”

The latest success is in addition to 70MW already won in previous auctions, RES said.
