Eolus North America has acquired an under development 500MW solar project with 250MW of energy storage in the western US from an unnamed seller.
The company said the facility is expected to come online in 2022 and will deliver power into California.
Eolus said the project is in “early development stage and located in a favourable region for renewable energy development”.
Eolus North America country manager Hans-Christian Schulze said: “We are excited at the opportunity to develop a utility-scale solar project paired with battery storage that aims to fill the growing demand for low-carbon firm renewables in the US.
“It indicates our commitment to expanding into new technologies and to be responsive to emerging energy market signals.”
The project will be Eolus North America's first solar plus storage facility in the US.
No details on the price of the deal were revealed.
