The Australian state of Victoria has awarded a total of 928MW to six clean power projects in its renewable energy auction.

Three wind farms and three solar projects were successful in the sale, which aims to help the state meet 25% of electricity generation from renewable sources by 2020 and 40% by 2025.

Successful wind projects included Tilt Renewables' 336MW Dundonnell facility north-east of Warrnambol, Acciona's 158MW Mortlake South plant and Global Power Generation's 180MW Berrybank scheme near Geelong.

There was solar success for Enel Green Power's 34MW Cohuna project east of Kerang, Canadian Solar's Carwap development south of Mildura and for Fotowatio Renewable Ventures' Winton plant east of Benalla.
