GE has completed installation of 66 Haliade 150-6MW turbines at the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

Jack-up vessel Seafox 5 installed the first turbine in March at the construction site some 45km north of the island of Borkum.

The halfway mark of turbine installation was reached in June, together with first power exported to a mini-grid.

Merkur is connected to the grid via the 900MW Dolwin Gamma grid hub and is expected to be fully commissioned in the first quarter of 2019.
