Infinis adds new talent to board
UK generator Infinis has appointed WSP Group founder Christopher Cole as senior independent director of new arm Infinis Energy.
The outfit is being incorporated as a holding company for the Infinis group as the business prepares for a possible initial public offering on the Stock Exchange.
Cole has more than 40 years of experience in engineering and consulting services and started his career as an engineer.
He was a founder and later became chief executive of consultancy WSP Group, leading the company for more than 20 years.
Following WSP’s merger with Genivar in August 2012 Cole became chairman and is now non-executive chairman of the merged entity.
He has also been non-executive chairman of industrial gear rental company Ashtead Group since March 2007.
Infinis Energy chairman Ian Marchant said: “We are pleased to welcome Chris to the board. We look forward to benefiting from his insight and expertise in building sustainable businesses.
“As an experienced director of listed companies, Chris brings important credibility to the role of senior independent director supporting Infinis as it explores a possible stock exchange listing.”
Cole added: “I relish the opportunity to work with Infinis’ talented management team to help them continue the company’s successful and profitable growth track record and steer its future development at such an exciting time.”
Infinis owns and operates 147 renewable power plants across the UK with a portfolio of landfill gas, onshore wind and hydro.
