Finnish debut for Gamesa 5MW
Spanish company to deliver the three G128 wind turbines in 2014
Spanish manufacturer Gamesa has signed a 15MW deal with Finnish company TuuliWatti Oy for the first delivery of its G128-5.0MW wind turbines.
Gamesa will deliver and install three G128-5.0MW turbines next year at an onshore wind farm being developed by TuuliWatti in Salo in southern Finland.
The contract also includes operation and maintenance services for 10 years.
It is part of a framework agreement signed by the two parties at the end 2012 for the supply of 135MW in Finland.
As part of this contract, Gamesa has supplied already 18MW of its 4.5MW platform to the Simo wind farm, which is undergoing commissioning.
It will also supply 54MW to the Pori wind farm and 36MW to the Tornio facility between this year and next.
The turbines are designed to withstand low temperatures and will be the biggest and most powerful installed to date in Finland.
TuuliWatti Oy is a joint venture between Finnish energy company St1 and national retail cooperative S-Group.
