Eneco fuels Honda solar
Dutch utility opens PV account in UK
Eneco has bought in to the under-construction Sevor Farm solar project, which once operational will be used to power Honda's UK manufacturing plant near Swindon.
The company will work alongside project developer AEE Renewables, which will provide some 64% of the annual energy requirement at the engine plant.
The deal is the first of its kind for Eneco in the UK, where it has previously focused on wind generation.
"The step into solar energy investment mirrors the strategy taken by Eneco in the Dutch and Belgian markets to diversify and widen its renewable asset base," said the company.
Sevor joins the company’s 36MW solar project portfolio that spans the Netherlands, France and Belgium.
