21MW home win for Siemens
Community wind farm to use seven SWT 3MW 113 turbines
Siemens Energy is to supply seven SWT-3.0-113 direct-drive wind turbines to the 21MW Holzacker-Knorburg community wind power plant in Germany.
The deal also includes a 20-year long-term service and maintenance agreement.
The project, which will be completed in the third quarter of 2014, will be located in the north German municipalities of Enge-Sande and Stadum.
Siemens said it will be one of the most modern wind power plants in northern Germany.
The turbines do not contain traditional drivetrains, “setting a new standard for efficiency and low operating costs”, the manufacturer said.
