Jumbo tackles Bladt-built components at 288MW wind farm
WPD has installed the first of 80 transition pieces at the 288MW Butendiek offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The unit was manufactured by Danish company Bladt and put in place last week by heavylifting vessel Jumbo Javelin.
Monopiles are being installed by Ballast Nedam vessel Svanen.
The project's substation was successfully put into place last month by Scaldis sheer-leg crane vessel Rambiz under contract to GeoSea.
Turbine erection is due to kick off later this year using Fred Olsen vessel Bold Tern.
Butendiek should be fully operational by the summer of 2015.
