Germany-based BayWa has sold the 19.5MW Great Glemham solar plant in the UK to investor Allianz.

The developer built the project, which is sited at the disused Parham Airfield in Suffolk, in the autumn of 2013. The fixed-tilt plant features PV modules from Trina and Yingli.

BayWa chief executive Matthias Taft said: "We were able to secure a long-term power purchase agreement, which made the project both for the financing bank as well as for Allianz an attractive investment.”

The company added that it is now working on other projects with Allianz.
