Aarsleff scoops £32m Danish bio
Deal with ENVO to design and build plant near town of Tønder
Infrastructure contractor Per Aarsleff is to design and build Northern Europe’s largest biogas plant near the town of Tønder in its native Denmark.
The Dkr300m (£32m) deal with ENVO Biogas Tønder includes an option for a similar plant in the town of Aabenraa and the total contract value of both facilities comes to Dkr600m.
Per Aarsleff will carry out civil engineering work at the 12-hectare site while the technical installation contract will be executed by subsidiary Wicotec Kirkebjerg. The processing technology will be supplied by German partner LimnoSun.
Work is underway and expected to be complete in 22 months. The option for the biogas plant in Aabenraa is planned with a staggered execution start of six months, Per Aarsleff added.
ENVO chief executive Bo Asmussen said: "We are looking forward to collaborating with Aarsleff and we intend to build the most beautiful and sustainable biogas plant seen so far.”
