DECC sets CfD date in stone
Two-week October window for applications in first allocation round

The UK government has confirmed 14 October as the commencement day for the first allocation round under the Contracts for Difference renewable support regime.
DECC issued a formal notice today for the kick-off of the next-generation funding mechanism, with the initial process running through 31 March 2015.

The application closing date will be 27 October 2014 and the delivery years will run from 2014-15 to 2018-19.
The first round is not restricted to particular types of eligible generator or eligible generating station, other than those outlined under the terms of the CfD.
National Grid and the specially created Low Carbon Contracts Company will be involved in the process.
DECC also released both updated EMR information and further details of terms and conditions on the CfD process.
