Dong uses Atlas to find workers
Recruitment outfit to supply some 100 staff a year at UK offshore projects
Dong Energy has signed a framework agreement with recruitment company Atlas Professionals for the provision of temporary offshore wind specialists.
The Danish company said the projects covered by the move are mostly in the UK and “partly in Denmark”, and some 100 contractors a year will be hired over the deal’s five-year duration.
Professionals being sought include client representatives, offshore installation managers, project managers, commissioning managers and inter-array and export cable managers.
Atlas Professionals, which won the deal following a competitive tender process, said it will work closely with its subsidiary South West Surveys to deliver the required staff.
Business manager for offshore wind Laura Smith said: “Offshore wind energy has huge potential and I am pleased that our professionals will assist Dong Energy with their UK projects and in turn further increase their aim to successfully develop, construct and operate offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
Dong Energy team leader Lars Svendsen added that he was sure Atlas "will help Dong Energy to have the most skilled people working on projects and also support Dong’s strategy for reducing the cost of electricity from offshore wind farms”.
