Blades turn at Nova Scotian wind
6MW Martock Ridge goes live, 20-year PPA with Nova Scotia Power
Scotian Wind Inc has completed the 6MW Martock Ridge community wind farm in Nova Scotia.
The facility was developed with partners Scotian WindFields Inc and WEB Wind Energy North America Inc. Its three turbines have tip heights of 145 metres with 100-metre blade diameters and 95-metre towers.
Output is pumped into the West Hants and Windsor distribution grid and will be consumed locally as part of a 20-year power purchase agreement with Nova Scotia Power.
The terms of the agreement were set by the Community Feed-In-Tariff program of the Nova Scotia Provincial Government. Local investment in Scotian Wind Inc was made through the Community Economic Development Investment program.
