Enel builds Oklahoma wind farm
74MW Little Elk live by year-end, PPA with People’s Electric Cooperative
Italian developer Enel Green Power has started construction at the 74MW Little Elk wind farm in Oklahoma, US.
The project in Kiowa and Washita counties is sited adjacent to the company’s existing 150MW Rocky Ridge wind farm and total investment will be $130m.
The plant is supported by a 25-year power purchase agreement with People’s Electric Cooperative of Oklahoma and is expected to be online by year-end.
Enel’s subsidiary Enel Green Power North America currently operates three wind farms in Oklahoma totalling 534MW. The company is also constructing a further 350MW of wind capacity in the state, including the 200MW Goodwell.
