Energiekontor mulls Belford action
Window to appeal refusal on 22.5MW Northumberland wind farm passes
UK developer Energiekontor is weighing up options for its 22.5MW Belford Burn wind farm after it decided not to appeal against Northumberland County Council’s refusal.
The developer allowed the statutory six-month window to appeal against last October’s refusal on the nine-turbine project to pass without taking action.
The development was thrown out by planning committee members over fears it would have unacceptable adverse impacts on heritage assets and designated landscapes of the Northumberland Coast area of outstanding natural beauty.
“Energiekontor can confirm that it has not taken the opportunity to appeal this planning refusal within the statutory six month window,” said Energiekontor project manager Michael Briggs.
“We will consider what future action, if any, we will take on the site over the course of the next few months. We do not wish to comment further at this stage.”
