Vattenfall tackles Kentish 2 lines
BoDo, Nostag 10 vessels to start installing export, array cables in May
Vattenfall is gearing up for installation of export and array cables at the 50MW Kentish Flats 2 offshore wind farm in south-east England.
The BoDo Installer and Nostag 10 (picured) vessels will begin loading the lines at Nordenham in Germany on May 1 and start laying them at the project site later that month.
Manufacturing of the cables was completed ahead of schedule, said Vattenfall.
Kentish Flats 2 is sited north of Herne Bay off the Kent coast and will feature 15 Vestas V112 3.3MW turbines. Nearly all onshore work has been completed and the project remains on schedule for first power later this year.
