DEME establishes German HQ
100 staff including offshore wind to be based in Bremen
Belgian company DEME is to concentrate its diverse German offshore activities in Bremen.
Staff from the Baltic 2 offshore wind team in Rostock will move across in the short term and there will be up to 100 in total at the offices within four months.
DEME activities in the German sector include offshore constrution through Geosea, which took over the offshore assets of Hochtief in October last year.
Ongoing work includes EnBW’s 288MW Baltic 2 as well as foundation installation at Dong’s 582MW Gode Wind 1 & 2. Deme is also co-developing the 400MW MEG 1 wind farm.
Chief executive Alain Bernard said: “Bremen, with its rich maritime tradition and its central location, offers us all required facilities.
"The plans for an offshore terminal in Bremerhaven offers perspectives to bring our vessels here for loading and maintenance and to organize our logistics for all offshore windfarms in Germany.”
