Sgurr expands in Canada
Growth follows recent expansion into San Francisco, California
SgurrEnergy has expanded its Canadian base to include Montreal and Toronto to build on growing business opportunities in Eastern Canada.
This growth follows recent expansion into San Francisco, California, earlier this year. Sgurr already has North American offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, Austin, Texas and Portland, Maine.
Sgurr currently works in Canada and the US supporting developer and investor activities across both the wind and solar industries.
The team is currently managing a number of wind speed measurement device deployments in Ontario for both pre-construction measurement campaigns and the optimisation of operational wind assets. Sgurr is also acting as independent engineer for a number of wind farms under construction and financing in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime Provinces.
Ontario and Quebec currently have around 7GW of installed capacity between them. In addition, Ontario currently also has a number of solar installations.
A new technical lead, Andrew Brunskill, joins the business after seven years working in the renewable energy industry. He has been appointed and will be based in Toronto.
Jean Sebastien Naud will take on the role of business development manager for Canada at the Montreal office. He joins Sgurr after seven years working in a renewable energy consultancy as project manager and business development manager.
