Swedes seek Horns Rev muscle
Vattenfall goes to market for installation contract worth around €22m
Vattenfall is seeking contractors to tackle turbine installation at the 400MW Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm in Denmark.
The Swedish utility is offering the market a roughly €22m contract to tackle transport and installation of MHI Vestas V164-8MW turbines.
Workscope includes engineering of sea-fastenings including blade racks as well as loud-out, transport from the pre-assembly port and offshore installation.
At least three bidders are likely to prequalify with initial requests due to land with the utility by 20 August.
Vattenfall won the rights to build Horns Rev 3 in February with a bid of 77 ore per kilowatt-hour.
Construction is expected to be in full flow by 2017 and the wind farm is due online early 2020.
