EDP Renewables (EDPR) has secured a private power purchase agreement (PPA) to sell the energy to be produced by Monte Verde 6 and Boqueirao 1-2 wind farms.

The projects, both located in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Norte, have a total capacity of 126MW.

The PPA is for 20 years.

Operations are expected to start in 2022.

EDPR has 467MW of wind installed in the country and has now contracted 3.3GW of the 7GW of targeted global capacity build-out for 2019-2022 period, as part of its strategic update announced in March 2019.
